DAY 1: Update

(Hi. It's me again.)

(I know it's been a while, but ... you know, I was kinda hesitant to start my, uh, "Pokemon Journey?" There was just a lot to get used to? Like, meeting my alternate-universe mom? She's not too different from what my actual mom's like, but it's just... I dunno. It's uncanny and weird and I needed time to get used to it.)

(My "old friends," too. I still don't quite understand how Jumpchain works, but uh, they were acting like they knew me for like, at least a year. But I didn't really know about them...? I had to learn about people I was supposed to know already?? I'm actually kind of glad I couldn't speak to them, because I'm sure I would've weirded them out at some point...)

(But man, they -- and everyone else really -- are obsessed with this rite of passage with kids wandering across the land by themselves. Well, and their pokemon, yeah. I ... I suppose it's fine, this kinda universe seems set up well enough for kids to be fine traveling on their own, but it's just one of those things I found myself having to adjust to. I just can't believe the people around me look at me and...)

(Oh! I forgot to mention! My pokemon actually evolved! I spent most of my time playing with it to try and get my mind from overthinking, and one afternoon it just became an Espeon! So, that's nice!)

(... But anyway.)

(Everyone looks at the two of us expecting us to be great, and challenge the league and what have. I've had some practice battles with the other kids in the neighborhood, and I know I kinda payed to be decent at battling they all really think I've got what it takes. Which... well. I really don't uh, wanna let anyone down, so...)

(I'm going to try to head out relatively soon. Maybe ask a friend if they want to come with me.)

Day 1: Second Update

Hey, it's your boy M. And after a year and a half, I've finally gotten out of the ocean.

... As if.

You seriously wouldn't think I'd spend that long lost at sea, would you? I mean, sure, it definitely took way longer than what I would've liked, but what did you expect? I couldn't just ask trainers, because apparently even lacking a face looking at them is still considered eye contact. Seriously. On the other hand, there were plenty of weak fish around to train Fou, so there's that. Thanks to them, the two of us eventually managed to defeat a swimmer, and I got a ride to the nearest land.

... Which was Johto.

Look, even with a map, it's easy to get turned around in the water.

Still, at least I didn't end up in Kalos or Sinnoh or god forbid somehow back to Orre.
It's at least a walking distance to Kanto, and probably the closest I could've gotten to my destination. Still, I think I oughta take advantage of this location. You know. Catch some Pokemon I can't find in Hoenn. Train a bit more. Who knows, if Doug didn't make a bee-line for Kalos I could find him and challenge him.

Shit, that makes me the rival, doesn't it?

Ah well. It's authentic..
